Preliminary Round Results

After 23 rounds of madness and mayhem, we finally have finished the preliminary rounds.  Rhona Mitra defeated Bridget Regan in Round 22 with an average hotness of 6.8 compared to Bridget Regan's 7.1.  This contradictory score is remedied, however, when comparing medians. Mitra's median score was an impressive eight, while Regan's was a seven.  Mitra will move onto face Angelina Jolie who won her round against Kristen Prout with an average score of 8.5.  Prout scored a 7 on both her average and median scores.  Jolie's median was an eight.

Mitra is in 31st place on the leader boards with her average score and eighth in her median, Regan ranks 25th in both median and average score.  Jolie lands in fourth place with her average and ties for eighth with her median.  Prout is in 29th place and 25th place respectively.  Mitra won with 6/10 votes.  Jolie won with 8/10 votes.

Mitra scored 1 one, 1 five, 2 sevens and 6 eights.
Regan scored 3 fives, 3 sevens, 2 eights, 1 nine and 1 ten.
Jolie scored 1 seven, 5 eights, 2 nines and 2 tens.

We now move onto the Conference Semi-Finals.  Instead of scoring as we have in the past, for these "break" rounds scoring will be a little more in depth.

Her average hotness score plus the number of votes in her favor will determine the winner of the round. Hotness will be the average score of the following categories: Ass, Face, Breasts, Body and Legs.  Each score will be on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being completely unattractive and 10 being the most beautiful things you have ever seen.  A 5 will be average; meaning that the body part is nothing special.  A 7 will analogous to "good", a 3 "bad."  Also, we will be comparing to other actresses only, so grading should be harsher.  Yes, Megan Fox's face isn't actually appalling to look at, but when compared to other actresses, it is.

For example, Mitra received 6 votes and received a hotness score of 6.8, giving her a total score of 12.8 compared to Regan's 7.1 hotness score and 4 votes, giving her a score of 11.1.  Mitra would win.

Here is the average hotness leader board for the preliminary rounds.  Bold actresses are winners.  The average score was a 7.29.

Remember Zoey Deschanel isn't on the leader boards yet, so she is the one wildcard in the tournament.  The next round will start tomorrow.

Conference Analysis:

The East Central Conference is shaping up to be the strongest bracket in the tournament.  Three of its semi-finalists have scores greater to or equal to eight, with Aniston holding the lowest score of 7.7.  In any other conference, Aniston would have a good shot at the conference finals.

The West Central Conference looks like the second strongest bracket, boasting both Kunis and Vandervoort who hold scores around 8.2.  Fox and Biel, while holding scores in the sevens, still would put up a good fight in any other division.

The North Eastern Conference ranks third with a strong semi-final round against Alba and Knightley, both with scores in the eight range.  Panettiere is a weaker contender with her 7.1 and Deschanel isn't tested, making for a weak opening game for the semi-finals.

The North Western Conference probably ties the NEC for third because of its strong contenders in Jolie and Portman.  Theron and Mitra have below-average scores, however, making the two semi-final games seem almost unnecessary.  The final round will be worth watching though.

The two southern conferences are by far the weakest in the tournament, however the South Eastern Conference ranks fifth because of the good competition that Hayek and Bell will put up in the SEC's second semi-final game.  The actresses score within .1 of each other and both hold scores in the eights, promising a heated battle.  Longoria and Morrison are forgettable with their sixes.

The South Western Conference ranks last even though it holds the top ranked actress because after Scarlett Johansson, no other actress is in the top-20.  Beckinsale won't put up much of a fight against Johansson and the Baccarin looks like she will lose to Perry hands down, who will then be destroyed by Johansson.

Notable Semi-Final Match-ups:

Alba v Knightley could be a good match considering both actresses scored in the eight range.  Knightley is still quite the underdog, but Alba's performance will be a good indicator for how well she will do against the other strong actresses in the Eastern Bracket.  If Knightley comes close to winning, watch out for Alba in the later rounds when she starts facing other top-10 competition.

The same goes for the Chriqui-Beyonce round.  Chriqui is a favorite to go to the championship, but will have to face some strong competition before she gets there.  If Beyonce comes close, Chriqui may not be able to stand-up to the later break round competition.

Salma Hayek and Kristen Bell will probably have the closest match of the tournament with the winner most likely going on to face Scarlett Johansson (assuming she wins) in the Southern Conference Championship.
