Round 19: Diane Kruger v Beyonce Knowles

The final round in the Eastern Bracket is upon us.  This powerhouse bracket holds every single predicted winner in the tournament, yet it is the Western bracket that holds the top two rated actresses.  Perhaps Beyonce and Diane Kruger can change that.  Kruger, a 34-year-old German actress, is most famous for her roles in National Treasure and Inglorious Basterds. Basterds, is a fantastic film, National Treasure, isn't.  And it unfortunately stars Nick Cage.  Luckily for Kruger, she is much better than Cage in almost every way.

Beyonce is probably best known for her singing, but she also starred in Dream Girls as an African American singer (imagine that).  She's released three albums, with another one supposedly on its way. She is also married or was married to Jay-Z.  Like most people, I think Jay-Z is more interested in Beyonce's body than her music, although I have to admit she does have some catchy songs. I wonder if "99 Problems" was written before or after Jay-Z married Beyonce because if it was written after, it's one of the most romantic raps of all time.  How fitting.  For anyone making a mix tape for a loved one "99 Problems" is a great suggestion.

Results from Round 17 &18

Round 17 was our closest round yet with Penelope Cruz just barely beating Sofia Vergara with 5 votes to 4.  Both actresses scored an 8.33 average hotness tying each other for fifth place on the leader boards.  Cruz will go on to face Jennifer Aniston, but scored .6 points higher suggesting an easy win for Cruz.  Cruz, unlike Vergara, had a median score of 9, tying her for 1st place on that leader board.

Emmanuelle Chriqui dominated Anna Kournakova 9-1 with an average hotness score 2 points higher (8.5) than Kournakova (6.5).  This puts Chriqui in fourth place on the leader boards just under Alba, Cuthbert and Johansson.  Her median score, however, was an 8.5 putting her fifth place in the median leader boards.  Chriqui will face the winner of Round 19.

Cruz scored 1 six, 1 seven, 2 eights, 4 nines and 1 ten.

Vergara scored 2 sevens, 3 eights, 3 nines and 1 ten.

Chriqui scored 2 sixes, 3 eights, 1 nine and 4 tens.

Kournikova scored 1 three, 5 sixes, 1 seven, 2 eights and 1 nine.
